Horton Inc., Roseville, Minn., has announced plans to build a new manufacturing facility in North America
New Horton Plant to Manufacture Viscous Fan Drives
to produce the company’s viscous product line, including the new global viscous product, VMaster Ultra Viscous Fan Drive.
Construction will begin in spring 2005, with production to begin in late 2005 or early 2006. The location of the facility will be announced this spring.
The new VMaster Ultra Viscous Fan Drive has been developed to meet the cooling needs of hotter running EGR 2007 and Euro5 compliant engines. The VMaster Ultra is a directly controlled viscous fan drive managed by the engine’s electronic control module. VMaster Ultra is available in sizes and mounting options for both heavy- and medium-duty trucks in North America and Europe.
Other Horton viscous products to be manufactured at the new facility include VMaster Directly Controlled Fan Drives and VMaster Viscous Air-Sensing Fan Drives for North American OEM and aftermarket applications.
