A new document scanning service has been launched at more than 150 truckstops.

Florida-based Pegasus TransTech this week announced the successful launch of the
Transflo Express document scanning service. Drivers simply hand their documents to a fuel desk attendant for scanning. In seconds, these documents are delivered electronically to the fleet for immediate billing and payroll processing. All fleets, regardless of size, can receive their trip documents via Transflo Express.
According to a March announcement, the company began installing the system in Pilot travel centers earlier this year. It eventually plans to have them in all of Pilot’s more than 200 locations. Last month, Pilot tried to discontinue offering TripPak Express drop boxes, a competing document-delivery service, but came to an agreement with TripPak provider TMI after customers balked.
"All 770 of our drivers are using it," said Mike Hufnagel, Maverick Transportation's vice president of information technology, of the new Transflo system. "We began realizing benefits immediately. Instant access to trip documents is enabling us to bill the same day we deliver our loads. We are also using the same systems at our terminals so whether the driver goes to a truckstop or to one of our terminals, their documents are scanned immediately. The service has been very easy for our drivers to use. The biggest advantage for the drivers and the company is since the drivers now maintain control of the trip documents, there is no loss of control of the documentation and no more disputes over their paperwork."
