Freightquote.com announced an agreement with eBay Inc. to provide services for customers who need to move heavy items purchased via the eBay website.
Under the agreement, eBay users may link to the freightquote.com website to access online freight tools to arrange freight shipments for items purchased via the eBay website. Providing heavy freight pricing and scheduling is a value-added service that helps close the deal as potential buyers might otherwise be hesitant to bid on large items without knowing delivery charges.
Freightquote.com built a customized site with eBay users in mind. Knowing most users won't be freight experts, the company developed tools and carrier relationships to accommodate their specific requirements.
EBay users can set up freight shipments and can even allow their buyers to get a freight cost before bidding on items. The tools help to demystify the shipping process. Inquiring customers enter shipping details such as zip codes, weight and item description to query their rate, carrier and transit time. They can schedule a pick up immediately or come back at a later date after the listing closes to complete the transaction.
The freight solution has been promoted on eBay since June 3 and has undergone rigorous testing and fine-tuning. Freightquote.com expects to eventually double the amount of transactions run through their site on a daily basis as a result of the agreement. Freightquote.com is a leading B2B freight logistics company that gives the freight industry instant, fully automated transactions. The company is a one-stop source for multiple modes of transportation that simplifies, expedites and lowers the cost of freight.
