U.S. Cargo Control launched its new parachute material tarps, a lightweight solution for truck drivers to protect their cargo.

Parachute tarps, also known as airbag material tarps, are made with 6-oz. nylon packcloth material, which makes these products 20-30 pounds lighter than those made with standard vinyl polyester. The ergonomic design is also more flexible to fit around heavy cargo such as pallets, crates, steel, and machinery, promoting easier use and providing less bodily strain on truck drivers, according to the company.

Each parachute tarp consists of 18-oz. vinyl polyester on the top side and drop flap sections, and two 6-oz. nylon packcloth sections on the sides. Both materials work together to protect cargo items from damage caused by water, weather, chemical corrosion, road debris, cold temperatures, UV radiation, mildew, condensation, and tearing. For added versatility, these tarps also come with three rows of zinc-coated D-rings, as well as grommets along the tarp’s hem, for easy and secure tie down connection.

“These tarps provide excellent protection and durability,” said Adam Shouse, business development consultant at U.S. Cargo Control in a statement. “By adding these products, we can better serve our customers looking for tarps that provide excellent protection at a much lighter weight.”

Parachute tarps are available in two different sizes to accommodate various lengths of semi-truck trailers and flatbed trailers.
