Thermo King is investing more than $100 million over the next few years in its Evolve portfolio of all-electric transport refrigeration products.
WIth this demo unit, customers get to see for themselves how electric refrigeration systems function in the real world, while Thermo King gets data on the trailer's performance in a fleet application. A standard but slightly modified S600 refrigeration unit is powered primarily by battery but has a diesel backup for the demonstration runs. Customers are using the trailer on multiple operational profiles and various temperature set-points from fresh to deep frozen.
