The Timken Co. announced the launch of Timken Tech Series for Commercial Vehicles, an online training program for professional technicians and distributors. Available at www.timken.com/techseries, the training starts with tapered roller bearings. Courses covering lubricants, driveline center support bearings, seals and other topics will be added periodically.

Focused on practical applications, this multi-media program features easy-to-understand online information supplemented with videos, illustrations and Timken TechTip bulletins to help industry professionals gain the skills needed to move ahead in their careers. 

Beyond the basics, the course teaches critical problem-solving skills, including how to select optimal replacement bearings and analyze bearing damage. At the end of each section, the professional may take an online test to earn certification in that subject. 

Timken recognizes this achievement by awarding certificates and patches to those who earn passing scores on the section tests.
