Improved refrigerated container visibility is among the benefits of Orbcomm’s next-generation CT 3000 series monitoring devices, the company announced Nov. 6.
The monitoring devices are designed for container involved in any transportation mode, with one model for temporary installations (the CT 3100) and the other for permanent installation (the CT 3000).
Both can support built-in or external sensors and use cellular connectivity and wireless technologies to provide data through a cloud-based analytics platform. The devices connect directly to the container’s reefer unit to monitor performance and deliver real-time alerts and also provide two-way control for remote adjustments to temperature and humidity settings.
Automated pre-trip inspection capabilities are another feature, the company said.
