Dayco’s New Serpentine Belt is Thinner
Dayco Products announced plans to release the Dayco Gold Label Asymmetrical Double Sided Belt, a new serpentine belt designed to meet demands on certain heavy-duty vehicles.
The Dayco Gold Label Asymmetrical Double Sided Belt is a new serpentine belt designed to meet demands on certain heavy-duty vehicles.
The Asymmetrical Double Sided Belt was originally engineered for use in original equipment applications. It features an EPDM construction and a reduced overall thickness on the top of the belt compared with traditional double-sided belts.
Dayco says the reduced thickness allows for an increase in overall durability while allowing the belt to operate effectively with both flat and grooved pulleys.
“Dayco approaches the market differently from most of its competition, believing that one belt construction will not perform best with all applications,” said Robert Christy, director of marketing for Dayco.
The product will be unveiled at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week, Jan. 26-29 in Las Vegas.
