A new drive tire from BFGoodrich, the DR454, is aimed at small to mid-sized fleets in the less-than-truckload, truckload and regional markets that want for a tire with premium performance attributes at a lower-than-premium price point.
It's a closed-shoulder design with three center ribs at 26/32 of an inch tread depth. It's available in 11R22.5 and 275/80R22.5 sizes (Load Range G).
Donna Murphy, business segment manager for BFGoodrich Commercial Truck Tires, said the SmartWay-verified DR454 offers low rolling resistance and will meet the fuel efficiency expectations that today’s highway operations demand.
"Alongside the ST244 or ST230 all position/steer tires and the TR144 trailer tire, BFGoodrich now offers a total SmartWay verified solution for highway applications," she added.
Murphy also said the tire offers excellent wet traction, long, even wear and excellent retreadability.
"BFGoodrich is a Michelin North America brand with a history of performance in trucking history," Murphy said. “It’s a brand that fleet operators can count on, and our goal is to continue to build this trust with new offers that meet their critical business needs. I urge everyone in the industry to stay tuned because this is just the beginning of exciting things to come for the BFGoodrich brand.”
The BFGoodrich DR454 is available immediately.
