Survey Says: How Fleets Regard Fuel and Oil Additives

This month's edition of Survey Says looks at how fleets regard fuel and oil additives, including the improvements they are most interested about and the need for cetane-improving additives for diesel fuel.

Acoording to more than 40% of respondents, the quality of fuel being purchased is already meeting expectations.

Close to half of the fleets we surveyed treat fuel tanks with a biocide or algecide to stop microbial growth in their tanks.

A majority of respondents stick to the normal OEM-recommended service intervals when servicing their trucks.

For more than 70% of fleets, it was all or none in terms of which manufacturers' claims regarding the performance of their fuel additives that they found most compelling.

The all or none mentatlity from the previos question was shared when it came to oil additives for 70% of respondents.
