Among the battery-electric and alternative-fueled vehicles at the ride-and-drive, Cummins showed off its latest, fuel-efficient X15 diesel engine.

White electric Hino truck on show floor

Hino introduced its all-new LE Series battery-electric Class 6/7 truck at ACT Expo. Powered by Accelera’s Integrated e-Axle 14Xe Gen 4.5, the Le Series delivers 260 kW / 348 hp of peak power and 180 kW / 241 hp continuous power through an integrated two-speed automatic transmission and axle.

Westport and Volvo showed off a 500-hp natural-gas-powered truck with diesel-like efficiency — one that also offers what Westport says is a better pathway to using hydrogen fuel in trucks.

The biggest celebrity at the show might have been the Mack Bulldog at the truck maker's booth. Walter also stars as Bodi, a snowboarding bulldog, in the Lionsgate and 20th Century Fox film Powder Pup.

Futuristic looking semi truck

Horizon Motor showed off its Class 8 HM8 BEVSM. Its website says this model is available for pre-order and has a preliminary range of 450 miles, a top speed of more than 74 mph, and 30% gradeability.
