Celadon Trucking has changed the name of its driving school from Quality Drivers School to Celadon Driving Academy, effective immediately at all locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Indianapolis-based carrier also has purchased four TransSimVS driving simulators for use at the flagship Indianapolis location.

"As the Quality Companies operation has grown and become more focused on the lease and sale of tractors and trailers, it became apparent that the school move away from the 'Quality' name to avoid confusion," explained Ashley Hay, vice president of recruiting at Celadon. "Additionally, the Celadon name has such a strong brand presence, that it only makes sense to leverage this equity in the name of the academy."

The academy has also purchased four new driving simulators that provide real-world driving environments, which have been designed specifically for training commercial truck drivers. This simulation training reinforces positive decision making in a realistic, risk-free environment.

"Simulation-based training enhances the driver training experience. It allows us to conduct real world training on different terrains and for different road conditions in the classroom," said Scott Vogel, director of Celadon Driving Academy. "These simulators will serve as an effective complement to the actual, behind-the-wheel driving that our students are required to complete as part of the curriculum."

Celadon Group Inc. provides long-haul, regional, local, dedicated, intermodal, temperature controlled, flatbed and expedited freight service across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
