Exhaust system manufacturer Borla Performance has announced that they will offer Borla aftermarket exhaust system components and complete exhaust systems to the commercial vehicle market.
The company’s initial entry will be complete exhaust systems for gasoline-powered Workhorse Custom Chassis W42 and W62 delivery trucks. Workhorse Walk-in vans are common in the parcel delivery, laundry and baking industries. However, Workhouse ceased production in 2012, which reduced the supply of replacement parts.

Borla exhaust pipes, mufflers, hangers and clamps are manufactured from T-304 Austenitic stainless steel, which is resistant to rust and corrosion and the products come with a million-mile warranty.
“This is a natural evolution and a growth area for our business” said Alex Borla, founder and CEO. “We will be utilizing our well-developed engineering and manufacturing expertise to produce parts for commercial vehicles fleets that require very high durability and will provide exceptional service life.”
Borla said its engineering and sales teams will be working closely with commercial fleet managers to better understand and correct weaknesses in design that may exist in the OEM exhaust systems the vehicles were originally equipped with to improve durability.
Borla pipes are mandrel-bent, which the company said eliminates wrinkles in the material that result in stress risers and failure points, adding to their durability and longevity.
“We recognize that it’s very important to commercial truck and bus fleets that their vehicles stay out of the repair shop and on the road every day, producing revenue and serving their customer,” said David Borla vice president of sales and marketing. “We believe that once a Borla Commercial exhaust systems or component is installed on a light- or medium-duty truck, it will be the last time that it will need attention for the life of the vehicle.”

Borla also offers short tube T-304 stainless steel exhaust headers that replace the OEM cast iron exhaust manifolds on the GM 4.8L and 6.0L engines used in the Workhorse Custom Chassis vehicle.
Borla plans to expand its commercial system offering to include more make and model light- and medium-duty commercial trucks throughout 2016.
