Networkfleet is prepping its Networkfleet 4200, a GPS vehicle tracking system, for release to the public.
The new system, which uses the company's web-based application, was created for fleets that do not need the remote engine diagnostics featured in the Networkfleet 3500.

The rugged device, designed by the company's telematics engineering group, is tamper-evident and hermetically sealed so it can withstand harsh conditions. The system functions on all vehicles and can pass SAE J1455 certification.

"We designed the 4200 for those who want a lower cost GPS solution, but prefer to purchase it from a leading provider that backs up their products with service, support, and stability for the long term," said Keith Schneider, president of Networkfleet. "With the addition of the 4200 product, government and commercial fleets of any size can find a Networkfleet solution that works best for their operations."

The device will go on sale after the company finishes external network certification processes, which should be by the third quarter of 2009. Networkfleet provides wireless fleet management services.
