Warren, Mich.-based trucking company Central Transport has announced a general rate increase effective Feb. 23.
The increase, which will apply to all U.S. domestic and U.S. Canadian International rates in tariffs 555, 585 and 595 series, will equal a general rate increase of approximately 5.67% for U.S. customers, says the company, but they note the increase will vary regionally and according to freight characteristics.
“While many of our competitors increased their rates and charges in the time frame between June through October of 2001, Central Transport has not increased its base tariff rates and charges since October of 2000,” said Jovan Jovanovski, Central’s vice president of marketing.
Central Transport is owned by Central Transport International, based in suburban Detroit, and serves the less-than-truckload sector, reaching most all major manufacturing markets across North America.
