Optronics has redesigned its Fusion LED combination stop, tail, turn and backup lamp with smaller components, making the lights more compact than previous versions.

The new fusion lamp is 25% smaller and includes optimized circuitry that hosts both red and white LEDs on a single circuit board as well as a new optical design. With the new circuit board configuration and LED light projection technology, the lights are able to use fewer diodes, reduce heat load and lower overall lamp cost.

Mounting the six-inch Fusion surface-mount LED combination lamp requires a half-inch hole for the lamp’s wiring and four mounting holes to accommodate rivets or screws. The lo-profile, half-inch thick LED lamp fits snugly to the vehicle’s surface while preserving structural soundness.

The lamps meet FMVSS 108 photometric requirements for visibility and safety. Lenses and housings are made of polycarbonate material that is sonically welded. The lamps employ a solid-state, surface-mount device design that protects their electronics against moisture, shock and vibration.

The new lamps are expected to be available later this year.
