The Dana Spicer AdvanTEK 40 tandem driver axle is now available for all of Peterbilt’s heavy-duty truck models, the truck maker has announced.
The AdvanTEK 40 is available on Peterbilt models 587, 567, 579, 389, 384, 382, 367, 365, 348, and 320. It's geared and optimized for integration with Peterbilt’s chassis and can improve fuel efficiency by up to two percent, according to Peterbilt.
“With the AdvanTEK 40, customers can spec the fastest axle ratios in the industry to handle higher torque input while reducing engine speeds by 200 rpm for better fuel efficiency,” said Robert Woodall, director of sales and marketing at Peterbilt.
The AdvanTEK 40 comes with features for improving durability and reliability like the u-tube breather that extends lubricant life. It is an on-demand lubrication system that only pumps when necessary. The inter-axle driveline angles are optimized to minimize noise vibration harshness which can increase u-joint life and reduce wear on other components.
The axles also feature differential locking for maximum traction. It is ideally suited for direct-drive transmission drivetrains requiring ratios from 2.26 to 2.79, says Peterbilt. The axle is compatible with the SPL350-XL and SPL250-XL drivelines.
