Triangle Suspension Systems is adding a second lightweight replacement leaf spring for Mack camelback suspensions. The 62-143 version for 46,000-pound suspensions with 55-inch axle spacings provides fleets with a savings of approximately 300 pounds per vehicle without sacrificing performance.

This additional replacement spring has been requested by several large refuse fleets and is based on the same design as the earlier lightweight 62-147 spring launched in 2010. Both springs are well suited for a variety of vehicles, including front- and rear-loading refuse trucks, roll-offs and dump trucks.

"Feedback from the drivers and installers continues to be very positive," says Triangle President Rick Kempski. "Everyone who has installed the spring has found it to be equal to or better than the standard spring in terms of load carrying, ride and stability."

Because these new springs were designed to mate with all existing components, only a shorter u-bolt is required and installation is no different than that of conventional springs.
