Detroit will offer new StepUP overhaul options for EPA '07 Series 60 and MBE 4000 engines starting in Spring 2012.
The four-level StepUP program options offer appropriate service levels for any engine in need of a performance upgrade, says the company.

To simplify the overhaul choices available, Detroit will also add a tool through demanddetroit.com to help customers choose which level of StepUP overhaul is right for their engine. Customers will go through a selection process resulting in the most appropriate level of overhaul for their particular engine's needs.

"In today's economy, we're seeing customers hold trucks longer to get the maximum value out of those assets, making our StepUP overhaul program more popular than ever," says Daniel Haggerty, director of parts and service marketing for Daimler Trucks North America. "Now that EPA '07 engines are starting to age, we've added new options within StepUP to meet that growing demand and keep them up and running at peak performance levels."

In addition, customers looking for a complete replacement engine will also see reduced lead times as Detroit allows its service network to complete base engines direct from its remanufacturing centers with off-the-shelf parts components.
