The World of Volvo Grand Opening

The World of Volvo is a stunning structure in the center of Gothenburg, Sweden that celebrates the global influence and impact of the Volvo brand. World of Volvo was jointly developed by the Volvo Group and Volvo Cars. The Volvo automotive group splt off from the Volvo Group (which focuses on industrial sectors such as trucks, buses, construction machinery and marine) in 1999. But the two companies share a deep heritage. And the gorgeous World of Volvo center is designed to celebrate that rich past while keeping an eye fixed strongly on the future.

On April 8, 2024, journalists from all over the world were given an private tour of World of Volvo, ahead of its official grand-opening on April 14.  

Innovative use of light, space and geometric designs are found everywhere inside the World of Volvo.

North American truck buyers will be able to purchase a new Volvo VNL and travel to Gothenburg to take develivery of the trucks in a ceremony held at World of Volvo.

The open-air feel inside World of Volvo is created with the use 2,300 wooden beams and 2,700 cross-laminated timber support boards. The three largest beams are over 111 feet long.
