Several TMW Systems products will now integrate data from ALK Technology's maps and fleet management software.

The TMW’s ExpertFuel software integrates ALK’s CoPilot Truck in-cab navigation into the TMWSuite and TotalMail software systems. This is part of a larger collaboration between the two software companies that also integrates ALK’s PC*Miler 28 into TMW's IDSC ExpertFuel, Appian DirectRoute, Innovative IES, Access and Access Plus, TL2000, TMW Suite and TruckMate software solutions.

ALK’s CoPilot Truck’s in-cab navigation provides street level map data enhanced with PC*Miler truck-specific attributes. The integration with CoPilot will allow organizations to reduce a fleet’s fuel expenses and out-of-route mileage by automating route planning and ensuring compliance, according to ALK.

“Generating a cost-effective route plan is the first step,” says Dan Popkin, senior vice president of enterprise solutions at ALK. “Providing the driver with the tools to follow it is the crucial second step.”

TMW Systems is also integrating ALK’s PC*Miler 28 web services and ALK Maps, which brings the visualization of truck routing and mapping with precision geocoding. It is designed to reduce hardware, software and IT resource costs associated with enterprise applications, according to ALK.

PC*Miler will automatically generate trip reports to show the miles a vehicle has driven in a particular state, which assists in generating fuel tax reports.

“ALK’s ability to offer a complete suite of transportation solutions that utilize a single data source across various routing, rating, mapping and visualization applications was a driving force in this integration,”  Popkin says.

TMW Systems provides software for commercial and private fleets as well as brokerage and 3PL organizations. The company focuses on software for the transportation industry, including asset based and non-asset based operations, as well as heavy duty vehicle service centers.
