Uber Freight, the company’s online service connecting owner-operators and fleets with available loads, has added new features to make it easier to control trailer preparation for refrigerated loads.

Within the app, Uber Freight now allows carriers to see critical information such as pre-cooling temperature, minimum and maximum temperature limits, and other specifics around trailer preparation. These details can help ensure that perishable goods will be transported with the right equipment and capabilities.

The information is listed alongside regular booking details such as equipment type, route, distance, time, and prices. Fleets can use the information to determine whether or not a refrigerated load is the right fit upfront.

Not to be confused with Uber’s recently shuttered autonomous truck business, Uber Freight is an app that was launched last year as part of the ride-sharing company’s effort to bring its business model to the trucking industry.

Uber Freight’s services are aimed primarily at small trucking companies and owner-operators looking to speed the process of matching available loads with available capacity.
