Navistar International Corp. announced a second quarter net loss of $374 million, or $4.65 per diluted share, compared to a second quarter 2012 net loss of $172 million, or $2.50 per diluted share. Exide Technologies, a battery maker based in Milton, Ga., has filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization as it attempts to restructure its U.S. business and strengthen its balance sheet. The company said its international operations are excluded from the filing, which it made Monday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.
