Garmin is voluntarily recalling approximately 1.25 million Nuvi brand personal navigation devices; approximately 796,000 of them were sold in the U.S. They contain batteries made by a third-party supplier that can "in rare circumstances" increase the possibility of overheating and lead to a fire hazard.

Only the 200W, 250W, 260W, 7xx and 7xxT (where xx is a two-digit number) model numbers may be affected. The Nüvi 465T specifically designed for truckers and introduced last year is not affected by the recall.
