Magtec Products Inc. will introduce state-of-the-art technology that focuses on asset protection and prevention of cargo theft at an ATA Florida conference in October.

With cargo theft in the U.S. exceeding $10 billion per year, Magtec’s new M5K gives customers control over their fleet in order to protect their assets, their customer’s cargo, their drivers and their reputation. When installed and activated, the truck is controlled by an on-board keypad requiring “driver authentication” prior to starting and moving the vehicle. The M5K also offers Unattended Idle Protect and when interfaced with over-the-air fleet management, the M5K offers additional features such as remote driver code change, tamper notification to dispatch and Magtec’s Acceleration Control Technology.
Robert Morisset, CEO of Magtec said, “This advanced technology provides carriers with an unparalleled line of defense, and the ability to remotely manage the truck safely, 24/7/365, anywhere in the nation.”
Magtec’s M5K enables a company to have control over theft prevention, combined with the ability to remotely restrict operation of the vehicle. Working in conjunction with over-the-air communications providers, the system can be managed from a dispatch center.
