Idlebuster has announced it is now offering Dometic air conditioning and heating systems integrated with its auxiliary power units for truck sleepers.

“We are delighted to welcome Idlebuster to the growing list of APU suppliers who are marketing Dometic auxiliary HVAC solutions as part of their anti-idling packages,” said Lou Siegel, senior vice president for marketing and strategic business development at Dometic Environmental Corp. “Our goal is to become the preferred supplier of auxiliary HVAC products for the OEM and aftermarket sectors of the trucking industry.”
Idlebuster offers a choice of Dometic self-contained or split systems providing 14,000 BTU of cooling and 2.5 KW of heating capacity. The self-contained units are designed to be installed under a berth or seat, with hot air from the condenser discharged through the floor to the outside. The split systems consist of two separate units, with the condenser/fan box mounted outside the truck and the compressor/evaporator/blower unit inside the sleeper. The two components are connected by refrigerant linesets, which are precharged at the factory for easy hookup at installation without special tools. A wall-mounted keypad with digital readout is used to control both the cooling and heating functions.
The Idlebuster APU uses a 13.5 hp Kubota two-cylinder diesel genset, which produces 9,300 watts of 115 volt electricity. The unit can be installed on the main frames behind the sleeper or on the left or right side rails.
