Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Admiral James Loy, nine other keynoters and 60 experts on cargo theft, anti-terrorism and border security will highlight the 2004 Annual Conference of the National Cargo Security Council (NCSC),
June 12-16 in Las Vegas, Nev.
NCSC is the world's largest professional organization of cargo transportation security experts, representing all participants in the global supply chain.
"The conference at the Riviera Hotel will also feature 65 exhibits of the latest and most advanced security technology systems today," said NCSC Chairman David Jones. "The NCSC conference will have the world's most complete display in one place of the leading security solutions that are helping to make our lives and livelihoods more secure every day."
Keynoters include Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North -- regularly featured on Fox Cable News, and retired Army Maj. Gen. Dennis K. Jackson, who oversaw all logistics operations in the Afghanistan and Iraqi wars.
Other notable speakers include U.S. Chamber of Commerce Vice-President for Homeland Security Andrew Howell and Ravi Ron, former Director of Security for Tel Aviv airport in Israel, who will detail how the world's most secure airport earned that reputation.
"The NCSC conference will showcase our successful initiatives since 9/11 to mobilize government, industry and the vital transportation community worldwide to work more closely together to thwart terrorist threats and cargo theft. Speakers will provide the latest news on the most recent DHS and FBI warnings of possible attacks on trucks, trains, planes and passenger busses, in addition to sea lanes and port cities," Jones said.
