The Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) is hosting an audio conference on Dec. 11 called "Get Them and Keep Them: Increase Driver Retention."

Scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. EST, the conference will focus on the effects a rebounding economy and the new hours of service regulations will have on driver retention.
Dissatisfaction with the disruption and confusion in the early months of HOS implementation will encourage many drivers to look around -- unless every department in a company focuses on improving driver retention and satisfaction. Too often, the blame for turnover is focused on recruiting or operations, ignoring the role that maintenance, safety, payroll, administration, and even sales play in achieving driver job satisfaction.
This seminar focuses on the role these other departments play in achieving high retention. It will discuss some of the ways these functions can help improve retention and reduce turnover.
The audio conference will feature David Goodson, director of transportation excellence for KPMG, Minneapolis, Minn.; Ray Haight, president and COO, MacKinnon Transport Inc., Guelph, Ont., Canada; Kenneth Sidwell, regional marketing director, Transport Corp. of America Inc., Eagan, Minn.; and Dale Corum, general manager, Mercer Transportation Co. Inc., Louisville, Ky.
This best practices panel will discuss what maintenance departments can do to retain drivers, how the payroll/administration department can implement a plan to respond to drivers and drivers' family's requests, as well as tips on how the sales and marketing department can help every day to retain drivers
To register for the audio conference visit www.truckload.org, or call TCA at (703) 838-1950.
