Truckstop.net's Wi-Fi network will be deployed in all Pilot Travel Stop locations in the United States enabling truckers, RV'ers, motor coach operators and mobile sales forces to benefit from wireless access to the Internet. Pilot will also use Truckstop.net's wireless connectivity to provide additional industry related services and applications to its core customer base.
As the largest travel plaza network in the nation, Pilot Travel Centers offer the most frequent access to things that truckers rely on. On adding Pilot to the Truckstop.net network President Scott Moscrip commented: "Pilot clearly reaffirms our mission to be the ubiquitous Wi-Fi network for trucking. With the number of Pilot locations added to the network, truckers will truly benefit from Truckstop.net being the source for Wi-Fi access in North America."
Moscrip added, "Obviously the services that can be extended to truckers through Wi-Fi access is greatly enhanced with the addition of Pilot to our network."
Pilot Travel Centers positions itself to be the interstate retailer of choice for its customers by offering outstanding value and service at attractive and convenient locations. Jeffrey Cornish, senior VP, CFO and CIO of Pilot Travel Centers said: “With Truckstop.net's Wi-Fi network, Pilot is able to offer value and service in an area of exciting and state-of-the-art technology. Truckers, as well as other mobile professionals, individuals and families, come to rely on Pilot’s interstate locations as sources for replenishment of products and services beyond fuel. With Truckstop.net’s Wi-Fi service, Pilot has a totally new way of delivering our value.”
Cornish commented further: “Being active in 37 states, it was critical that the Wi-Fi solution Pilot selected could be delivered nationally. Knowing that a national carrier such as Sprint was also involved with Truckstop.net reinforced the commitment to high standards and a level of service that the industry and we at Pilot could rely on."
Truckstop.net Wi-Fi Internet access will roll out at Pilot Travel Centers over the next couple of months, and subscription to services will be available at each Travel Stop as locations come online.
