The U.S. Customs Service has made an arrest in a major international counterfeiting case involving counterfeit Caterpillar engine parts and software.

The arrest marked the culmination of more than a year of close cooperation between Caterpillar and the U.S. Customs Service in Columbia, S.C.
Tuesday, an executive of Aarkay Engineering Corp. of Calcutta, India, was arrested while trying to sell counterfeit copies of Caterpillar software and engine parts to undercover U.S. Customs Service agents in Columbia. Aarkay representatives are also accused of trying to package and sell counterfeit Caterpillar engine parts elsewhere in the United States.
