bringing 100 channels of music, news, sports and entertainment, including a trucking channel, across the entire continental United States.
XM is marking the final phase of its national launch, across the entire Northern U.S., with a "Power of X" listen-and-ride tour -- rolling city-by-city events scheduled for 25 days in 25 major cities, culminating with coast-to-coast events Dec. 5 in New York and Seattle.
XM started its launch Sept. 25 in San Diego and Dallas/Fort Worth and expanded in mid-October across the entire Southern U.S.
M's programming lineup features 100 coast-to-coast digital channels: 71 music channels, more than 30 of them commercial-free, and 29 channels of sports, talk, children's and entertainment.
Meanwhile, competitor Sirius, which has postponed its launch pending additional testing, recently was named a "Best of What's New" Grand Prize winner for 2001 in the electronics category by "Popular Science" magazine.
