Safe Transportation Systems of Bellingham, Wash., has announced an agreement with Autogas Propane Ltd. of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, to install the STS Accident Control and Anti-jackknife System on existing equipment and new trailer purchases.

STS Accident Control is a mechanical system built around a device attached to the underside of a trailer. When activated, a steel bar engages the fifth wheel and limits the swing of the trailer relative to the tractor. The trailer will not swing past the out-of-control point, allowing the driver to power and steer out of emergency situations.
Autogas Propane is a propane supplier operating from six locations throughout British Columbia.
Earlier, signed agreements were announced by STS with two hazmat carriers, Northwest Tank Lines and Lode Runner, which specify that all new tractor-trailers purchased by them from manufacturers will include the new system.
