Trucking software developer Profit Tools has released a new module for carriers that provide less-than-truckload and pickup and delivery services.

Route Manager lets dispatchers set up routes for any pickup and delivery locations they service, and assign trucks and trailers to handle them. Then, any freight moving to or from those points can be automatically routed to the assigned equipment.
In addition to automatic freight routing, Route Manager enables the rapid sorting of pickup and delivery itineraries, letting dispatchers optimize stops and change sequences of stops on the fly. Pushing excess freight to other trucks or holding it for the next run is accomplished simply by cutting and pasting between itineraries. Profit Tools already provides other capabilities for LTL/P&D, such as printing hard copies of loading and delivery manifests, and printing the delivery receipts for every stop in an itinerary with a single command.
