I-Sim Corp., Murray, UT, has received a contract to build a research-grade truck driving simulator and a multivehicle simulation training center from Carnegie Mellon University’s Driving Research Center. I-Sim and Carnegie Mellon are joining together to create a multivehicle driver simulation research center to focus on heavy truck driver research and other driver training applications.
The Carnegie Mellon TruckSim will feature a roll-and-pitch, heave-and-surge motion platform, a Freightliner truck cab for realism, multiple driver training combinations and an expanded visual system with a library of vehicles and multiple visual databases. I-Sim will provide the simulator and customer upgrades for the university’s specialized research.
