Utah DOT to Deploy 360SmartView Truck Screening Technology

The state of Utah will soon deploy 360SmartView throughout its network of truck inspection facilities. 360SmartView is a cloudbased truck-sorting system that will electronically assess all trucks entering weigh stations and present roadside officers with a real-time, complete and correct snapshot of compliance with state and federal safety and weight requirements.

Duff Brothers Buying Frozen Food Express

Temperature-controlled truckload and less-than-truckload carrier Frozen Food Express has reached an agreement to be acquired by Duff Brothers Capital. Duff Brothers will purchases all outstanding shares of FFE common stock for approximately $38.2 billion.

U.S. 51 Ohio River Bridge Restricts Traffic Width

Work to maintain and repair the U.S. 51 Ohio River Bridge between Wickliffe, Ky., and Cairo, Ill., will restrict traffic to a 7-foot maximum load width starting Monday, July 29. The work zone restriction will prohibit trucks, buses, motor homes and vehicles pulling trailers from crossing the bridge for approximately 50 days.

Thousands Attend Walcott Truckers Jamboree

The World’s Largest Truckstop celebrated America’s truckers last week in a big way with the 34th Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree. Held July 11-13, the event hosted nearly 40,000 drivers and their families as well as local residents. Visitors came from 19 different states and Canada to display their trucks.
