Roadmaster’s RM272 trailer tire is designed to withstand treadwear from use with a drop-deck trailer. It features a new tread design and compound for improved durability and protection against cutting and chipping.

The RM272 has a 16/32-inch tread depth and is available in size 255/70R22.5 in load range H. It features four-belt steel casing and as lightly rounded tread footprint as well as a reinforced shoulder to withstand extreme side forces.

The tire was also designed to withstand irregular wear and damage due to curbing. It features a rounded footprint to distribute pressure along all of the ribs to prevent premature wear on the intermediate ribs. Roadmaster says that the RM272 is tough enough to withstand the impacts that come from riding up and over curbs.

“Of all wheel positions, tires on a drop-deck trailer take some of the harshest punishment,” said Gary Schroeder, director of Commercial Vehicle and OEM sales for Cooper Tire. “The new RM272 is designed to withstand these conditions and we believe this tire will be a top performer in the industry.”
