Portsmouth, VA-based Doughtie Foods Inc. has chosen Xata to provide the onboard computers and key hardware and software components for its next-generation fleet management system.
The $85 million full-service food distributor delivers more than 5,000 different items to food-service operations in Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina and Virginia. The Xata system, with its route optimization and dispatching capabilities, is expected to support Doughtie’s goal of offering customers flexibility when scheduling deliveries.
