Prior to redesigning the parts display area it was not unusual for parts to be in displayed in shipping boxes.

Quick moving parts are displayed are easy for customers to access.

Impulse buys including cleaning supplies are still on display but not as prominently featured as they are in some distributorships.

Phillips was the first supplier to sign on to be part of a Action’s visual customer experience, an idea that was conceived by on the back of a napkin by Nick Seidel, vice president and sales manage, and Carlos Solis, to parts manager and marketing director.

Minimizer was one of the companies that opted to participate in Action’s effort to change the image of distributors.

There is still some more traditional parts storage at Action Truck Parts but the distributorship is moving toward a more visual display of parts.

S&S Truck Parts signed up to have a visual display of its parts at Action after being approached to help enhance the shopping experience of Action customer.

Almost the entire back wall of the distributorship is taken up by a large display of Grote products. There are terms for manufacturers who want to participate one of which is removing products that have not sold after 10 months.

Taking a cue from other retail establishments, Action has shopping carts for its customers to use as they browse the parts displays.

According to parts manager and marketing director Carlos Solis, customer often come in for one part but end up walling through the displays and purchasing additional products.

The distributorship still has a traditional parts counter where customers can talked to experience parts countermen.
