Package delivery giant UPS on Tuesday said beginning December 29, in the United States, dimensional weight will be used to calculate the billable weight of a shipment on all UPS Ground services and UPS Standard to Canada packages.
Compared to the same time last year, truckload linehaul costs in May averaged 5.8% higher, an increase that is consistent with those of 5.7% in April and 6% in March, according to the latest Cass Truckload Linehaul Index.
They increased 1.1% during the second week in June compared to the first week, for an average of $2.07 per mile, with it made up of $1.59 per mile for the linehaul charge and 48 cents for the fuel surcharge.
