GAO Urges Improvements in TIGER Grant Process

The Department of Transportation still needs to improve its administration of a key grant program, says the Government Accountability Office. GAO said that while the department has made improvements in the $4 billion TIGER program, it should add more detail to the guidelines it uses to choose recipients of the grants.

Boehner Says Highway Bill is ‘Doable’

A highway bill is “in the realm of the doable” in the next two years, said House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, in remarks on ABC’s This Week on Sunday. In a conversation with host George Stephanopoulos Boehner said that both he and President Obama came to Washington to get something done rather than butt heads.

Meritor Sells Mascot Brand to Investor Group

Meritor has sold its Mascot operations in Canada and the United States to an entity that will operate under the name Mascot Industries LLC. All other Meritor brake and trailer axle remanufacturing operations, as well as Meritor's distribution business, are not affected by the sale and will continue to operate as usual.
