Tuesday was the deadline for carriers to opt out of a settlement reached in July between some trucking companies and Pilot Flying J over allegations the truckstop chain cheated customers out of fuel purchase rebates. About 50 of the truckstops’s 6,000 customers said they want no part of the agreement.

Bridgestone Americas Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Bridgestone Corp., has completed its Agro Operations Guayule Research Farm in Eloy, Ariz. The research farm will supply guayule biomass for rubber production at the company’s BioRubber Process Research Center, which is currently under construction in Mesa, Ariz.

SKF Exec Mike McGrath Dead at 54

Mike McGrath, an automotive and heavy-duty industry leader for the past 25 years, 20 of them with SKF, passed away suddenly on Oct. 11, at the age of 54. He most recently was president of the SKF Vehicle Service Market, North America Business Unit.
