Westbound Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Minn., between Highway 61 and Interstate 35 East will be closed from Dec. 5 through Dec. 8 for bridge work. The road will close at 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5th and reopens on Monday, Dec. 8th at 5 a.m.

Road crews will be removing and replacing bridge beams for the southbound Highway 52 bridge over westbound Interstate 94. During the closure, the Lafayette bridge will remain open, but there will be no access from northbound Highway 52 to westbound Interstate 94.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to use westbound Interstate 694 to southbound Interstate 35 East or southbound Highway 61 to westbound Interstate 494 as a way to bypass the closure.

In addition, drivers may encounter daytime delays in both directions of Interstate 94 this week in Roseville, Minn. as workers inspect bridges crossing the interstate between Dale Street and Pelham Boulevard. There will be intermittent lane and shoulder closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 through Friday, Dec. 5.
The inspections are needed to prepare construction plans for bridge work to take place during the 2016 construction season.
