The Truckload Carriers Association named Brad Bentley president, succeeding Chris Burruss. Burruss resigned on June 26 due to personal reasons after holding the position since 2004.

“Brad is a bright, creative, ‘roll up your sleeves and earn your stripes’ kind of guy who knows trucking’s issues, companies and people,” said Shepard Dunn, TCA chairman. “With his outstanding communication skills, there’s no doubt he will make a positive impact on TCA’s members, programs and sponsorships.”

Bentley previously served as co-chair of the Image and Communication Policy Committee and was also a member of the Board of Directors and Recruitment and Retention Human Resources Committee. He helped formalize the TCA’s partnership with Wreaths Across America and promoted the Highway Angel program as well.

Bentley is also part of the Commercial Vehicle Training Association’s Marketing Committee and the ATA’s Communications and Image Policy Committee.

“My career has been about creativity and collaboration and I’m a big networker so you’ll see me out there beating the streets,” said Bentley. “I’m planning to offer the TCA members a value-driven agenda.”

Bentley graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in broadcast journalism and has been working in the trucking industry since 1988. He worked in driver recruitment advertising sales and as a trucking publisher before becoming the editorial director for Randall-Reilly recruiting in 2008.
