Help Inc., the non-profit public/private partnership that provides PrePass weigh station bypass, continues to expand its e-screening and pre-clearance technology with the opening of two new Texas weigh stations.

Located five miles south of Devine, Texas on I-35, both the northbound and southbound weigh stations are now fully operational with PrePass’ safety pre-clearance service, allowing the 397,603 qualified trucks apportioned for Texas to safely bypass weigh stations.

The service saves truckers time, money and fuel while also enabling inspection personnel to direct their efforts toward trucks and companies that require more attention.

Texas, which opened its first PrePass-equipped weigh station in 2011, has three additional sites located at New Waverly northbound I-45 and Riviera northbound and southbound on US-77. Last year, the service provided significant benefits to the 60,569 trucks that successfully bypassed. More than 5,000 hours were saved, representing $24,228 in fuel savings and $525,799 in operational cost savings, according to the company.

Nationally, PrePass bypass services are available at 304 operational weigh stations and inspection facilities in 31 states, with a number of additional sites under construction or in the planning stage in several other states. A total of 469,150 trucks representing 37,489 fleets are qualified to bypass throughout North America.
