Removal of the Adams Street bridge over Interstate 35 in Warren County, Iowa will require closing the north- and southbound lanes between Iowa 5 (exit 68 near Cumming) and Iowa 92 (exit 56 near Bevington) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 6, 7 and 8, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Chariton construction office.

Southbound I-35 traffic will be detoured east on Iowa 5 at exit 68, south on Iowa 28, and then west on Iowa 92 to I-35.

Northbound traffic will be detoured east on Iowa 92 at exit 56, north on Iowa 28, and then west on Iowa 5 to I-35.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
