Only one lane will be open for traffic on westbound Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Missouri River Bridge in St. Louis, mile marker 230, from 11 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday, due to pavement repair.

The Missouri Transportation Department says the westbound exit ramp to southbound Fifth Street will also be closed.

One official advises truckers to use an alternate route of I-70 west and then take I-270 north to state route 370 west and then get back on I-70 west

The one open lane on westbound I-70 will only be 10 feet wide.

The ramp to northbound Fifth Street will remain open so traffic needing to access southbound Fifth Street can exit to northbound Fifth Street and find a safe place to turn around to access southbound Fifth Street.

Drivers that decide to go through the area are advised to slow down in the work zone and obey the posted 45 mph speed limit.
