Nominations for the award will be accepted until Jan. 31, and they can be submitted at womenintrucking2012.org. The three finalists will be invited to attend the Truckload Carriers Association Conference in Kissimmee, Fla., and the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on March 5 following a panel discussion focusing on issues women face in the industry.

The award's purpose is to "honor the women who have been instrumental in creating chance and providing leadership within the trucking industry," according to a press release from the Women in Trucking Association. Nominations for the award should be for women who influence key decisions in a corporate, manufacturing, supplier, owner-operator, driver, sales or dealership setting.

Last year, the first award was given to Rochelle Bartholomew Gorman, chief executive officer of CalArk International. Gorman will serve as a judge for this year's award along with Howard Abramson, Transport Topics publisher, and Ellen Voie, President and CEO of the Women in Trucking Association.
