On the heels of its partnership announcement with DHL Global Forwarding, Interstate Transport Inc. announced the formation of Interstate Dedicated Inc.
Interstate Dedicated is a wholly owned entity of Interstate Logistics Group and a sister company of Interstate Transport. Interstate Dedicated will operate the asset-based fleet operations of Interstate Logistics Group.
"Tight capacity markets have sparked some interesting conversations with many of our customers," said Tim Higham, CEO of Interstate Logistics Group. "They asked us for solutions and, through business commitments they have made to us, we have answered by opening a unique, first class asset based trucking company that was designed from the ground up to be top tier in safety, service and rate structure.
"We have been asked by our clients to increase their access to newer equipment and provide dedicated equipment and drivers. Their needs also include specialized trailer equipment such as decking and high-cube trailers, and custom fleet solutions that meet their needs each day," said Higham.
Mike Friedly, Interstate COO and a veteran of asset based solutions with over 4,000 trucks under management, will manage the Interstate Dedicated team using technology from InMotion Global, a wholly owned technology segment within the Interstate Logistics Group family of companies. The use of a common technology platform between all Interstate operating entities provides streamlined and efficient information flow to support flexible customer solutions, from dedicated fleets to single loads.
