Dupre' Logistics, Lafayette, La., has chosen to install Qualcomm's Mobile Computing Platform 100 Series throughout its entire fleet.
Dupre' made the move to upgrade as part of its commitment to safety and reaping the benefits of new technology.
Upgrading from Qualcomm's FleetAdvisor fleet management system, the MCP 100 platform will allow the carrier to use Hours of Service, Critical Event Recording, Performance Monitoring and the Circle of Service Workflow application, which Dupre' has been beta testing for Qualcomm. This service supports customizing the driver's work plan and data capture activities throughout the day. The MCP100's text-to-speech capability and in-motion user interface are other safety features that are attractive to Dupre'.
Dupre' began installing Qualcomm's OmniTracs mobile information system in its fleet in August of 2002 and adopted Qualcomm's FleetAdvisor applications for their entire fleet in the summer of 2007.
"As a part of our commitment to 'Always Forward Thinking', Dupre's move to Qualcomm Transportation Services and MCP100 will allow us to move to a more robust and cost-effective technology," said Tom Voelkel, president of Dupre' Logistics. "For example, moving from FleetAdvisor logs to Qualcomm's Hours of Service will allow us to move to an Internet-based model. The MCP100 also enables us to run more customized applications in the truck and to connect devices such as printers, barcode readers and handheld computers."
