Next year, the Green Truck Summit, which will take place March 9-10, 2010, at America's Center in St. Louis, Mo., will incorporate Calstart's Clean Heavy Duty Vehicle Conference. The Work Truck Show 2010 will run March 10-12.

The Green Truck Summit will be expanded to a day-and-a-half program to accommodate the increased content and networking opportunities that will be available to the industry. Both organizations will jointly develop and manage the event.

"For many years, Calstart and the NTEA have worked together and collaborated as part of various working groups and have participated in each other's annual events," said Jim Carney, NTEA executive director. "Through recent discussions, we have determined that jointly developing a single educational conference will provide greater benefits for the industry and will be more effective in increasing the understanding of the latest technologies available."

While Calstart is more focused on technology development for a clean transportation industry, NTEA is more involved with integrating this technology into a fleet's operations.

"We believe partnering to create a premier truck industry educational conference takes both our organizations to the next level," said John Boesel, Calstart president and CEO. "Combining the Clean Heavy Duty Vehicle Conference with the Green Truck Summit fits our mutual goals of successfully bringing clean and efficient technology into the truck market, and brings together Calstart's knowledge of leading-edge transportation technology, fuels, policy and trends with the mainstream industry reach and knowledge of the NTEA."

Calstart will also host a Clean Technology and Fuels Pavilion as part of the truck show floor. This pavilion will showcase new exhibitors that are focused on advanced clean technologies and fuels, including small and medium-sized bus manufacturers. The pavilion will be open to all Work Truck Show attendees.
